

The Serpent Dagger is one of the Blades of Chaos, a series of edged fantasy creations from the Fourth Age of "The Tale of the Swords of the Ancients", created by the fantasy artist Kit Rae. The Serpent Dagger, the most vile of all the Blades of Chaos, was called Nasek in the Ancients's language and it was fashioned in the shape of many intertwined snakes and held a serpentine blade of unbreakable metal. Six spikes were thrust into the hilt to represent the six Ancient Ones who had given it part of their powers.

Images from a hidden world of dreams and nightmares form this unique line of edged fantasy creations by artist Kit Rae. Mr. Rae, who has been designing knives since 1984, has been engrossed in fantasy art all his life, with a background in illustration, painting, and sculpting. His designs have varying inspirations including Greek and Egyptian mythology, some strikingly beautiful, some wickedly haunting.
